This health infographic was created by Leanne Maglio as Assignment #2 for MHST 631 on June 20, 2023. The purpose of the assignment was to provide an overview of my chosen health promotion topic, including an introduction to the problem and rationale for studying the problem, as well as my proposed health promotion intervention and a related health promotion theory or framework

Assignment Reflection:

This infographic assignment emphasized the need to be concise in public health communication, while also still providing all of the relevant details and pertinent factual information required by your intended audience. I found it a bit of a fine line to navigate: how to include enough background and scientific information while avoiding providing too much detail. In an attempt to avoid providing an overwhelming amount of text on my infographic, I likely failed to provide some key contextual details to my audience. In the future, I will aim to provide more information but in a more visually appealing (less text-reliant) format.

Community Engagement Framework: Centre for Addiction and Mental Health

Click to view a completed community engagement framework document (based on The National Collaborating Centre for Determinants of Health (2013) resource) examining the policies and frameworks in place at the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health. This document was completed by Leanne Maglio on July 12, 2023 as part of MHST 631 Unit 6 (Community Engagement). This document, together with those compiled by my MHST 631 colleagues can act as a resource to compare or consider different community engagement strategies that can be considered in health promotion work.
