Care Management Leader, Acquired Brain Injury Program, GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre 

Responsible for facilitating clients' inpatient rehabilitation across the continuum of care, from admission to discharge. Coordinate and collaborate with the interprofessional and medical teams to ensure safe and effective discharge plans and appropriate outpatient follow up for clients with Acquired Brain Injuries, while providing direction to the team on appropriate level of care and sustainable community care plans

Responsible for providing day to day coordination of services and just in time learning opportunities for the hospitalist medicine team of physiotherapists and rehab assistants, in addition to managing a full clinical caseload.

Acute Re-ablement Project

Quality improvement initiative aimed at increasing nursing involvement in mobility and working towards a cultural shift amongst staff on hospitalist units to have patients more involved in their care.  Involved in working groups in the planning and implementation stages.  Collaboration with researchers at the University of British Columbia and interdisciplinary staff at Vancouver General Hospital

iPACE champion

Active member of focus groups in project with the goal of integrating Goals of Care discussions into daily practice.  Helped to ensure the success of the project by coordinating inservices and education for the hospitalist allied health team

Developer- Competency and Skill Evaluation

Creation and implementation of a new departmental orientation checklist and comprehensive skills assessment document, which is now being used to on-board new hires to the department as well as assess performance of current members of the hospitalist team

Contributing member of working group leading to the implementation of a new community program to bridge the gap between acute care and community (PSS: Personalized Support and Stabilization)

Weekend Team Lead

Coordinate the delivery of Physiotherapy services at Vancouver General Hospital on the weekend

Lead- Nursing Education Initiative

Initiated an interdisciplinary collaboration to identify gaps in nursing knowledge/skills pertaining to mobility, then assisted in the planning and execution of mobility education sessions with unit nurses (as part of the Acute Re-ablement Project)

Clinical Preceptor

Clinical preceptor for Physiotherapy students from the University of British Columbia and the University of Alberta.  Provided student placements in Cardiovascular ICU, Inpatient orthopedics and Medicine settings.  Also acted as supervisor for rehabilitation assistant students from various colleges in Alberta and BC

New Staff Support/Supervision

Responsible for all unit-based orientation of new physiotherapy hires to the Hospitalist Medicine Program.  Also acted as supervisor and support to physical therapists under interim licenses

40 hour certificate program provided by Vancouver Coastal Health.  Three over-arching themes through 6 full day sessions: leading from your strengths, leading others, and leading in a changing and complex organization
